Windows Max support isn’t there yet, but Mac Max support is, and Pd users can enjoy the software on Mac, Windows, Linux, and even 64-bit Linux. a collection of external objects based on soundhack plugins - GitHub - tomerbe/sh-pdexterns: a collection of external objects based on soundhack plugins. This release promises a few bugs, so use at your own risk and write good, precise bug reports if you hit any trouble. This groundbreaking set of effects give you unprecedented control and creativity in the processing of audio, whether from static audio files or live audio streams.
+binaural, +morphfilter, +spectralcompand, +spectralgate, +decimate, +chebyshev, +matrix, +compand, +delay, +pitchdelay and +bubbler commonly thought of as computationally expensive: SoundHack, for instance, seems to use rather slow, unoptimized code (though with excellent sound quality), and as a result cannot operate in real-time. SoundMagic Spectral is a freeware suite of 23 Audio Unit plug-ins that implement real-time spectral processing of sound.
These patching environments really do feel like the virtual modular studios they are. In what can only come as great news to lovers of patching in the free and open source Pure Data (Pd) and commercial Max/MSP environments alike, those tools are now in beta as objects to include in your own patches. That includes “timbral filtering” and noise-reducing expansion with spectralcompand, drawn morphing filter shapes with morphfilter, audio positioning with binaural, and a terrific spectralgate for creative dynamics processing. Included are several free audio plugins: SoundHack Delay Trio a group of three plugins derived from the same basic delay algorithm: a hermite interpolated delay line with variable modulation, and a feedback loop with dc blocking and saturation. Adobe Audition and the mentioned Spectral Compand are generally more effective. Soundhack’s Tom Erbe has released new versions of all of his plugins for Mac, in Audio Unit and VST forms. It was followed by Spectral Shapers, Mac and Windows plug-ins that built on some of those ideas to do more “timbral morphing” with recorded audio. Soundhack has a great plug-in for noise removal called +spectralcompand. Soundhack, the free audio tool for the Mac developed by audio wizard Tom Erbe, was long a beloved tool for doing strange and wonderful things for sound.
